It's not Sabr or Shukr, but Sabr and Shukr

The presence of hardship does not mean absence of blessing. And the presence of blessing does not mean absence of hardship. Both can exist simultaneously in our lives.  So it's okay to feel sadness when surrounded by blessing, and it's okay to feel joy when surrounded by hardship. Allah knows the heaviness in your heart when all that people see is good fortune. And He know the delight in your heart when all that people see is misery. - Ustadzah Taimiyyah Zubair

Meaningful Mondays

When almost every girl is waiting for Tuesday love letters, I received this in my email on my dreadful Monday. Thank you, Sis Na'ima B. Why did I not found you earlier? 💕 Asalaamu alaikum, Husnina Raihanah,   Listen, sis.   You are worthy of the role that Allah (swt) has assigned to you: as a leader, as a supporter, as a defender, as a cheerleader. Allah (swt) knows you intimately - strengths, weaknesses - the whole package.  And He has placed you on this earth to fulfil certain roles - you know what they are.   Trust that He knows what He is doing.    You are here, in this time and in this place, for a reason. There is something your people need that only you can give. Acknowledge that. Accept that. Allow it to seep into your subconscious. Allow it to fill you with a sense of honour and purpose. Allah (swt) has entrusted you with this flock.    And, as long as you show up, authentically and sincerely, He will help you. You aren’t ex...

Still at it since 2019.

I never thought I would be doing this. The only dream I had was doing my Master's Degree. But circumstances led me here. This path is definitely bigger, harder, and seriously taking most of my family time. Nonetheless, keep me in your prayers.  Still coping with this D2B. Still struggling. 💕✨💪

He saw it.

There may come a time when you regret a sacrifice you’ve made or a favor you’ve done. This regret will feel deeper if your sacrifice came with a profound price or is met with no appreciation. But listen carefully… Life works in mysterious ways. I need you to shift your focus to your life’s greatest blessing which you have today. Remember what life was like before you had It? Can you imagine what life would be like if you didn’t? Now, here is the secret most people never reach: you may not have gotten appreciation for that sacrifice or that good deed, but Allah saw it. And recorded it. And that greatest blessing that you have today…..may even be because of it. - Yasmin Mogahed

.....tapi indah. alhamdulillaah :')

Baginya kau abadi.

A little throwback wont hurt, right?

So the first dish I ate when I landed in Brunei 3 years ago was this Nasi Ayam Bakar at Sungai Akar. I t was bought and introduced by my housemate's father.  It was (and it still is) delicious that I ate it until I became jelak and muak. But alhamdulillaah, I get to taste it again yesterday! Hence this little throwback. This sudden throwback is surreal when I just realised that next year will be my graduation year (insyaAllah).  So Brunei (and nasiayambakar), you will always have a place in my heart. Surely. :')
