Fall To Earth

One by one, they went up to the stage

Feling rather contented, I must say

However, there's this one girl

Sitting in her hot seat

Tears rolling down her cheeks

Unstoppable tears

Unable to utter her feelings

She's not one of them

Hopes crashed

Like crashing airplanes from the sky
Just like that

She was defeated

Totally utterly miserably defeated

Then her name was called

With nothing much to care anymore

Dragged her feet to the teacher

Opened up the slip

And that's that

The number appeared

She couldn't help but

Faked smiles to others

Hugged a few

Ran to her mum

Relieved

Yet apathetic

Words of gratitude

To all her asatizah

Congratulations

To all the top students

What is done cannot be undone
Calmly, soundlessly 

She told herself

"This might just be the beginning of everything"

Regaining her composure
A pat on her shoulder
She thanked the Creator
Only HE knows
What's the best for her

She moved on with her life
No look back

Hoping for the better
In years to come
